National Salvation for the Jews?

Gen. James Green

L ET’S PUT to REST this notion of “National Salvation” for the Jews once and for all. Trust me, this is not going to be popular—to tear down the National Jew idol—yet it is necessary.

Ever since I’ve been a Christian (1971 was my new birth in Christ), I’ve heard about the “last days”—when a pre-tribulation rapture will take place. In this, the Antichrist, the two witnesses, and the False Prophet are key events/players…along with the “abomination of desolation” and the appearing of Christ and His “Kingdom of Heaven.”

Pick up books (DVDs/CDs) by people like Hal Lindsey (his most famous book, The Late Great Planet Earth, which I read in the early 1970s), Tim LaHaye (famous for his UnBiblical book series, with co-author Jerry Jenkins—Left Behind. I PROVE in my Rapture magazines that it is the Christians, not the non-Christians that are LEFT BEHIND!), John Hagee (a Christian Zionist to the core, has many teachings on the “future of the world” and especially the Jewish nation), Thomas Ice, with his teachings on the imminent plan to rebuild the “Last Days” Temple (his mentor in UnBiblicalism being the late John Walvoord), and hundreds of others who promote the “Jew” lie (please note that this is not an anti-Semitic article, it is a anti-falsehood article).

Charting the End Times

“CHARTING THE END TIMES” is a very colorful book put together by Tim LaHaye and Thomas Ice (2001) using the Clarence Larkin charts (which my particular Pentecostal denomination used when I was being “trained up” in all this “End Time” stuff [1972-1977] called “Dispensational Truth,” that LaHaye and Ice point us to for TRUTH). For now, let me point you to pages 84 and 85 in which they write:

Israel: “God’s Super Sign of the End Times.” (This is illustrated with a colorful chart on page 85):

Current Church Age—

Tribulation (7 yrs.)—

Millennium (1000 yrs.).

Below this they have, on the left, a chart in red:

Israel—Regathered Before the Tribulation in unbelief; Ezk. 20:33-38; 22:17-22; 36:22-24; Isa. 11:11, 12; Zeph. 2:1, 2 and Ezk. 38-39.

On the right, in green, we find:

Israel—Regathered Before the Millennium in Belief; Deut. 4:29-31; 30:1-10; Isa. 27:12, 13; 43:5-7; Jer. 16:14, 15; 31:7-10; Ezk. 11:14-18; Amos 9:14-15; Zech. 10:8-12 and Matt. 24:31.

“God’s promise to Abraham and Israel are UNCONDITIONAL and GUARANTEED through the various subsequent covenants,” they write (p. 84), both of which are LIES! (See my many teachings on this subject, including “Israel 1948").

“As with the church and the nations, God is moving His CHOSEN PEOPLE—Israel—into place for the future fulfillment of His prophecies relating to the (Jewish) nation. He has already brought the Jewish people back to their ancient land (1948)…” (p. 84).

One small problem—God does not bless disobedience or unbelief. The whole 1948 thing was done, not by God, but by men! They tell us that the “regathering” and “conversion” of Israel (p. 80) is all Scriptural. All one has to do is study the Bible and see that God “moves” according to BELIEF, not unbelief; OBEDIENCE, not disobedience.

The Signs of Christs Return

ON PAGE 119, they start out with: “Through the ages, ‘date setters,’ ‘sign spotters,’ and ‘false prophets’ have brought disrepute to the study of prophecy by speculating on the timing of Christ’s return.” Well, now, Hal Lindsey (one of them!) is just one of whom they write...not to mention dozens and dozens of such before their book was published.

Since the authors mentioned Abraham—“God’s promises to Abraham and Israel are UNCONDITIONAL and GUARANTEED”—we will begin our part 2 study with him.

Ezek. 20:33-38

LET US LOOK at LaHaye’s and Ice’s Ezek. 20:33-38, listed as “Israel regathered before the tribulation in Unbelief:”

“In 1948 when the modern state of Israel was born, it not only became an important state-setting development, but began an actual fulfillment of specific Bible prophecies about an international regathering of the Jews in UNBELIEF before the judgment of the Tribulation” (p. 86).

Concerning Israel (ancient), God rebukes them for their blasphemies (Ezek. 20:27-29). Vv. 30, 31 speak of them being polluted, committing whoredoms: “As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out. And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face. Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD. And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant: And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.”

The language of v. 37 reminds us of the parable of the sheep and goats—of the shepherd sorting out his sheep by means of his rod. The rebels (disobedient/unbelievers) are dealt with…but they do not enter into the land of Israel, they remain outside the final blessing (v. 38). God does not “bless” the unbelievers/disobedient...modern Israel is both!

Adam Clarke has a take on v. 32 (“And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, ‘We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone’”); He writes: “Ye wish to be naturalized among idolaters, and make a part of such nations. But this shall not be at all; you shall be permitted to mingle yourselves with the people of those countries: even they, idolaters as they are, will despise and reject you. Besides, I will change your place, restore your captivity; yet not in mercy, but in fury poured out; and reserve you for sorer evils (v. 34)” (VOL. 4, p. 477).

If we’re to believe that Ezekiel was writing about 1948, we’ve got problems, for v. 38 says: “I will purge out from among you rebels, and them that transgress against Me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn (not countries=plural), and they shall NOT ENTER into the land of Israel…” We need to ask: “Do Jews believe in Jesus?” NO! They await “their” messiah (which will never, ever, appear—they have already rejected Christ their Messiah!).

Who was Israel’s Savior? Clarke expounds on v. 38: “The incorrigibly wicked I will destroy; those who will not receive Him whom I have appointed for this purpose as the Savior of Israel.” Clarke follows up with: “And I will gather you who believe out of all countries (plural) where you sojourn, and bring you into your own land; but those of you who will not believe—will not receive the Son of David to reign over you, shall never enter into the land of Israel, but die in your dispersions.” “This is,” Clarke writes, “what the contradicting and blaspheming Jews of this present day have to expect.”

We have to be blind in order to accept this “regathering in unbelief” stuff taught today. The obedient and believing were prophesied to enter into the land—which 1948 was a regathering of disobedient and unbelieving Jews—both the Zionist Jews and Orthodox Jews DO NOT believe in or accept Jesus Christ.

Thomas Ice

IN “THE GREAT TRIBULATION,” Ice writes: “…the future conversion of the Jews is brought about in history through various events that will transpire during the tribulation, thus requiring both to be future events. The fact that the modern state of Israel was reconstituted in 1948 is historical verification that God is preparing the world for Tribulation events” (p. 119). I have already dealt with Ice in past teachings, so let me briefly state some things for you now.

First, Ice presents his prophetic future regathering (1948), yet he knows that Israel is already back in the land. For all these “Jew worshippers,” this is God’s “Super Sign!” (the Jews were regathered after Babylon also). Ice’s mentor, John Walvoord, wrote: “Of the many peculiar phenomena which characterize the present generation, few events can claim equal significance as far as Biblical prophecy is concerned with that of the return of Israel to their land…and the fulfillment of Israel’s prophetic destiny” (see “Israel in Prophecy,” 1962, p. 26).

Note: Ice presents two DIFFERENT prophetic scenarios for Israel’s future:

Is Ice confused? Yes!

On page 77 of “The Great Tribulation, (T.G.T.)” he lists key elements—1-8—stating that “even a school child would know as key elements in the history of Israel… The first 5 events have happened to Israel.” As pointed out by his opponent, Ken L. Gentry Jr., “He then observes that it is clear from the text that the final events (6-8) will also occur to the same people (Jews) in the same way.”

Note the problems:

1—The list of the “key elements in the history of Israel” do not mention a return to the land (of Israel). We might inquire, surely their “regathering” would be a key element in her history—but it is absent.

Ices Supposed 8 Keys:

1. The Israelites and their descendants will remain long in the land.

2. The Israelites will act corruptly and slip into idolatry.

3. The Israelites will be kicked out of the land.

4. The LORD will scatter the Israelites among the nations.

5. The Israelites will be given over to idolatry during their wanderings.

6. While dispersed among the nations, the Israelites will seek and find the LORD when they search for Him with all their heart.

7. There will come a time of Tribulation, which is said to occur in the latter days, during which the Israelites will turn to the Lord in repentance and faith,

8. “For the LORD your God is a compassionate God; He will not fail you nor destroy you nor forget the covenant with your fathers which He swore to them” (Deut. 4:31).

(#6 we know was the Babylonian Exile and the Roman Exile).

Let us examine Ice’s “Key elements.” First, no mention of a return to the land, only “the Israelites will return to the Lord (not land) in repentance and faith.”

2—Secondly, according to Ice, Israel’s tribulation occurs AFTER “repentance,” DURING her exile (contrary to what he sets as the pattern elsewhere in the book).

Look at keys #6 and #7. The “latter days” (#7) suggests the eschatological tribulation. So, according to Ice’s enumeration, the (Great) Tribulation (#7) occurs AFTER Israel’s REPENTANCE (wherein Israel will seek and find the Lord) but “while dispersed among the nations” (#6)—from A.D. 70 onwards.

If one follows Ice’s “facts” closely, only a paragraph later he cites David Larsen’s work on Deut. 28-34 (see p. 78), in which Larsen claims: “the matrix out of which the great prophecies of the Old Testament regarding Israel emerge (see “Jews, Gentiles, and the Church,” 1995, p. 23). Larsen’s first listing is Deut. 26:3-13 and 28:1-14, in which “The Conditions of blessings to follow obedience.” Wait a minute! Did not LaHaye and Ice claim (in “Charting the End Times”) that “God’s promises…are UNCONDITIONAL and GUARANTEED” (p. 84)?

Dr. Larsens Time Table:

26:3-13; 28:1-14

The conditions of blessing to follow obedience

The coming apostasy

The affliction that God will bring upon Israel, while still in the land, because of her apostasy

28:32-39, 48-57

Israel will be taken captive

Chapters 27, 32

The enemies of Israel will possess her land for a time

28:38-42; 29:23

The land itself will remain desolate

28:63-67; 32:26

Israel will be scattered among the nations

The time will come when Israel will be “few in number”

Though punished, Israel will not be destroyed, if she repents

28:40-41; 30:1-2

Israel will repent in her tribulation

Israel will be gathered from the nations to her divinely given land

Now Notice:

28:40-41; 30:1, 2

“Israel will REPENT in her Tribulation;”

“Israel will be gathered from the nations and brought back to her divinely given land.”

But does Ice present this elsewhere? For starters, Deut. 4 pictures a RETURN to the Lord AFTER Tribulation, not judgment. This means that a future Tribulation is supported from this early text.

But we note that Deut. 28-30 indicates that the Tribulation will come AFTER Israel has been regathered back into the land, then Tribulation (see p. 79 of T.G.T.).

Ice tells us: “Just as Israel was regathered AFTER the Babylonian captivity and returned to the land, so she will be returned from her AD 70 Diaspora from the nations. However, this time she will be regathered in preparation for a 7 year period we know as the Tribulation, which will serve to prepare her for conversion and ultimate covenantal blessing” (see p. 80). Ice goes on to write about Deut. 28:15-68: “The affliction that God would bring upon Israel, while still in the land, because of her apostasy; Deut. 28:32-39, 48-57; 27; 32; Israel will be taken captive, the enemies of Israel will possess her land for a time; then he lists Deut. 28:38-42; 29:23; 28:63-67 and 32:26: “The land itself will remain desolate; Israel will be scattered among the nations.”

It is interesting to note, most futurists believe in a literal Biblical interpretation. But note what Ice writes concerning Deut. 29:23: “All its land is brimstone and salt, a burning waste, unsown and unproductive and no grass grows in it, like Sodom/Gomorrah…”

Give us a break! Israel is not DESOLATE today (spiritually, yes). So, what happened to ice’s consistent literalism? Gone bye, bye!

The contradictions in these futurists’ writings are embarrassing.

I believe that the “Great Tribulation” happened in A.D. 70; I believe that racial Israel’s time is past; God’s focus now is upon spiritual Israel. This is what I am going to focus on in part two.

National Salvation for the Jews?

Gen. James Green

S ADLY, there are too many misleading “theories” connected with the state of the future of Israel; false views keep us from proclaiming “repentance” to the Jew. John Hagee especially has jumped from teaching that Jews need Christ’s redemption, to saying that they now await, not Jesus’ return for salvation, but await THEIR messiah (what is his name??).

This false teacher states:

“Those nations who align with God’s purposes will receive His blessing. Those who follow a policy of opposition to God’s purposes will receive the swift and severe judgment of God without limitation” (“Jerusalem Countdown,” 2006, back of cover). Really?

America, dear ones, has supported Israel since 1948...and since that date, America has slowly but surely GONE DOWN, not up!! This San Antonio, Texas pastor has stars in his eyes. Israel missed their Messiah centuries ago.

On page 202-204, Hagee puts forth his own key facts:

1—Archaeological evidence says it’s Israel’s land;

2—Israel has a historic right to the land;

3—Israel’s practical value to the Middle East;

4—Israel’s land: the ground of humanitarian concern;

5—Israel is a strategic ally of the U.S.;

6—Israel is a roadblock to terrorism (hey! Israel itself is a terrorist state!);

7—we must support Israel’s right to the land because God said so!

THIS POOR PASTOR makes this false claim: “The God of the Bible is a covenant God, and He NEVER breaks covenant” (he quotes Deut. 7:9). Why doesn’t Hagee quote v. 11?: “Thou shalt therefore KEEP the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to DO THEM.” We can all agree that God is “a faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and KEEP His commandments…” (v. 9). But verse 10 tells us that God “repayeth them that hate Him to their face, to destroy them…” Israel is a lesson to ALL the world, proving that God, time and time again broke covenant with them to their own hurt...but Hagee says otherwise.

The RSV uses the words “steadfast love” (form of H2623, hesedh) which having a legal background, referring to the OBLIGATIONS involved in a covenant relationship. God’s loyalty to His promises in the covenant are his hesedh, but since the nation was a breaker of the covenant there was (is) no obligation whatsoever on God’s part to continue His loyalty. True, these were times He did continue; other times it was judgment. (One needs to study the disloyalty Israel had towards God, see “A Jealous God” in some of my writings). The whole Bible is full of examples of God’s anger towards his unbelieving/disobedient people.

Hagee tells us (on p. 130) that “The covenants God makes with His people are everlasting!” He tries to convince the unlearned that “these covenants are not based on man’s faithfulness to God; they’re based on God’s faithfulness to man.” He goes so far as to call people like myself “narcissistic” (p. 130).

Abrahamic Covenant

HAGEE SAYS on p. 131 that God made a blood covenant with Abraham (see Gen. 15:9-21). Then it went to Isaac, Jacob, to David etc. Well now, let’s just see if the covenants are “unconditional.” Seems like the word “if” won’t appear in any of this covenant making if Hagee is right. We even have to question the New Testament salvation: is it conditional or not?

So, before we begin our examination of the Abrahamic covenant, let us first go to Gen. 4:3-7 (v. 7 reads: “If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door…” Note the word “if” (H518, im, eem)= “whether, conditional” etc. The English “if” means: “a condition or stipulation.”

So, the first time we find the “if clause” is here. This story is sufficient to convince an unprejudiced mind that acceptance with the LORD is CONDITIONAL. But Hagee disagrees with the Bible. What’s new?? Actually, Hagee (and ALL others of this UNBIBLICAL persuasion) are literally barring the modern Jews from Heaven by their false teachings.

Cain was the world’s first apostate; he rejected God’s “if.” Although Cain worshiped God, he did not do so “by faith,” as did Abel (see Heb. 11:4). This same Cain spirit of worship continues (see Jude 11). The “way of Cain” is Churchianity, not Biblical Christianity.

Abrahams First Condition

“IN THE SAME day the Lord made a covenant with Abram” (Gen. 15:18).

“As for me, behold, My covenant is with thee” (Gen. 17:4).

“And I will establish My covenant between Me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations” (Gen. 17:7).

Just what is a covenant? (H1286, berith; Gk., G1242, diatheke). The definition of covenant in Hebrew/Greek is: “Will,” “purpose,” “disposition” (check out some leading lexicons for references).

God’s covenant with Abram imposed a SEVERE CONDITION from the beginning: “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, ‘Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee…” (Gen. 12:1-4). So begins the history of Israel—the “father” of the Jewish people.

There is NO WAY that Hagee can claim this covenant was unconditional. THIS COVENANT WAS CONDITIONAL AND SO ARE ALL THE OTHERS. The New Covenant is based on this one. Although God’s eternal purpose of salvation was conceived “before the foundation of the world” (Matt. 25:34; Eph. 1:4), this purpose is accomplished through the Abrahamic Covenant (A.C.) Jesus said in John 4:22: “Salvation is of the Jews.” Paul later stressed the Seed of Abraham in Gal. 3:16. So, the A.C. is the basis of many Messianic prophecies. All redemption is based on the A.C.—all began with Abraham’s (Abram’s) call: “By faith Abraham, when he was CALLED to go out into a place…OBEYED…” (Heb. 11:8).

Do you honestly believe that God would have blessed Abraham if he did not obey? His “blessing” was contingent upon obedience—he left his natural family, became a wanderer, living in a “strange country” (Heb. 11:9). He acted with his own free will and choice. It is sheer nonsense to speak of obedience without free choice.

Abrahams Second Condition

GENESIS 17:1-4 shows us what God demanded: “Walk before Me,” (v. 1). This “walk” was to be continually another covenant condition. We find our counterpart in the New Testament where we must “walk in newness of life” (Rom. 6:4; See also Lk. 1:6; Jn. 12:35; Gal. 6:16; Eph. 5:2, 8; Col. 1:10 etc.).

Hagee must disagree with all the conditions in order to promote the Jews.

Abrahams Third Condition

IN GEN. 17:9-14 we read about a third requirement as verse 9 states: “Thou shalt keep My covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee…” God also required circumcision. We of the New Testament must be “HEART CIRCUMCISED.”

Abraham and his family were placed under this covenant condition. Those who disobeyed were “cut off” (v. 14). You see, both God and Abraham (and his family) had their part to play. The covenanter fixed the conditions and pledged Himself to His covenanters.

Abrahams Fourth Condition

SO FAR we have seen, by Scripture, that “conditions” are attached to covenants. There is no such thing as “once in the covenant, always in the covenant.” The Old Testament shows us also that the death penalty was often (not always) inflicted for covenant violations.

Now we’ll look at Abraham’s fourth condition in Gen. 22:1, 2, 10-12. Verse 2 says: “…Take now thy son…and offer him there for a burnt offering…” This was Abraham’s greatest test no doubt—his free will was tested. See what God said after the test (Gen. 22:16-18). Hagee and gang all talk about God’s “blessings” being unconditional, but what are we to do with, “That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed…” and try this one: “And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou HAST OBEYED MY VOICE.” The “condition” for being blessed was, and is OBEDIENCE.

One Christian author wrote: “…with these facts before us, I ask you a fair question: when God said, ‘because thou hast done this thing…because thou hast obeyed My voice, by all the laws of language and logic, does this not prove that God’s covenant dealings with Abraham were conditional?” I ask: WOULD GOD HAVE MADE THE PROMISES TO ABRAHAM IF HE HAD NOT OBEYED THESE CONDITIONS? (See Gen. 26:3-5 where God deals with Isaac in the same manner).

Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown Commentary

TAKE IT upon yourself to do a bit of research. Their expositions on the above Scriptures present both the divine and human parts of the Abrahamic covenant:

“The Covenant securing these blessings originated entirely in Divine grace; but it was suspended on the condition that Abraham should walk before God...and since he had through the grace which had enabled him to attain an extraordinary strength of faith, fully met that condition by an obedience honored with the strongest expression of Divine approval, — Isaac, his son, was now assured that the covenant would progressively take effect...”

Why don’t these “Jews First” folks do better research? Well, if they did, their whole End Times would have to go bye-bye! It goes without saying that faith and obedience on man’s part are conditions set forth by God Himself.

Genesis 18:19 has 3, yes 3 “that”’s. “For I know him, THAT he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; THAT the Lord may bring upon Abraham THAT which He hath spoken of him”—THAT the covenant blessings might come upon him! Got it??

So, what does THAT mean?

For starters, the Hebrew for “that” means (literally), “to the end that,” “in order that.” In other words, in order that the blessings might come upon him, his (or her) habitual attention to, and faithful performance of, these obligations/duties…is a compliance with the conditions on which the divine promises had been made to him (see J.F.B. Commentary).

Prof. S.R. Driver (1846-1914)

THIS PROFESSOR was an Oxford Hebrew teacher, one of the revisers of the English translation of the Old Testament (from 1876-1884) and also an Old Testament authority. Let me put forth for you his findings on the Abrahamic Covenant (A.C.) where he shows us what Gen. 17:1-4 means:

“Upon this condition…the Lord grants His covenant to Abraham. ‘Walk before Me, and be thou blameless.’ The condition Abraham is called upon to fulfill…[is] the duty of leading generally a righteous and holy life…upon this condition…God grants His Covenant” (see “The Book of Genesis” by S.R. Driver, pp. 185 and 217; 3rd ed. 1904).

Return of the Jews?

SO, we’re left with this serious question: “Are these modern day ‘Jews’ in obedience in their land—to receive God’s blessings? “We all have to admit NO!

We also have to ask: “Are these modern day ‘Jews’ in obedience in their land—to receive God’s blessings?” We all have to admit, NO!

We also have to ask: “Are these modern day ‘Christians’ in faith and obedience in order to receive God’s blessings?” Again, we all have to say NO!

The New Testament Covenant is founded on the A.C. Romans 4:16 tells us that Abraham is the Father of us all—Racial Jews and born-again Christians. We all know that the Jews of Jesus’ day were so backslid that He remarked that their father was the devil (Jn. 8:44)! Just where does this put MOST professing Churchites today? Guess.

You see, God gave Abraham an everlasting covenant because he had faith and obeyed God’s covenant conditions. The same hold true for us, but we must “do the works of Abraham”—his works were continual folks—all the way from Chaldea to Mt. Moriah.

Jesus’ “If Teachings

JESUS CERTAINLY continued this “if” teaching. The Bible, dear professors of the Christian faith, uses considerable repetition of truths about our salvation—Peter wrote: “though ye know them, and be established in the present truth” (2 Pet. 1:10-15).

Go through the Old Testament and see how many times you find the “if” clause; go through the New Testament for the same purpose…the Sinaitic covenant was an “if-covenant;” the Davidic covenant was the same, and on and on. Jesus was the “son of David; the son of Abraham” (see Matt. 1:1; Acts 13:23; Rom. 1:3; Gal. 3:16; 2 Tim. 2:8 etc.). So, each covenant that followed the A.C. was an out-growth and further expansion of that A.C.

Note Matt. 6:14, 15—both verses have the “if” clause. Both the Old Testament and New Testament have the same meaning—“if” is used to express A CONDITION. One might want to examine how this word is used in the Courts. “English in the Law Courts” (F. Unger Co., 1962), written by Prof. M.M. Bryant states (p. 230) that: “when ‘if’ is used to express a condition, it has the same meaning as in general usage.” When the Holy Bible uses the word “if,” the same would apply.

Jesus used the “if” clause often in his speech (see Matt. 16:24-26—in this “if-statement,” Jesus was speaking about a man losing his soul. WHAT? Oh, yes, He says: “…if any man will come after Me, let him (or her) DENY himself, and take up his Cross, and follow me” (v. 24)… “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?...” (v. 26). But what do we find being taught today (especially in Mega churches)? “Love yourself,” “celebrate yourself,” “treat yourself good,” “have your best life now” blah, blah, blah.

Jesus taught (as well as the New Testament writers) that “whosoever” OBEYED the conditions for salvation would “save his live” (reverse this please and see how it reads). The grammar of the Greek New Testament (or Hebrew Old Testament) in the “if-texts” means: “Begin now to follow Me (Jesus or the Father), and CONTINUE DOING SO” (see “A Manual Grammar of the Greek New Testament,” Dana and Montey, p. 300, 25th ed; Macmillian, 1960).

Luke 14:25-35

CHECK IT OUT—pretty severe!... “if any man come to me.” “…but if salt have lost his savour…it is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out…” Go through Jesus’ teachings and see what you find...nothing at all like this namby-pamby stuff we get from these worms called pastors, evangelists, and youth leaders etc.

Bluntly, Jesus taught “the sword that cuts and the fire that burns.” Today’s reprobates teach that “Jesus is crazy about you.” Really? Just where do we find such stuff?...or, “God loves the Jews in their rebellion, in their Jewish pride, in their unbelief, blah, blah, blah.” All LIES!!! Jesus taught that WITHOUT ABSOLUTE SURRENDER of SELF, salvation is hopeless (see J.F.B.C.). Why isn’t this being taught today? Well, because of unbelief, rebellion, and the pride-of-life. Everyone wants to live the “good life,” which will DAMN them for sure.

More of Jesus Ifs

JOHN 8:31-51 contains more of Jesus’ “ifs.” Jesus starts out with: “…if ye continue in My Word, THEN ARE YE MY DISCIPLES indeed,” speaking to those who believed on Him. Do you think this applies to us today (v. 31)? Jesus ends His discourse with: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, IF A MAN KEEP MY SAYINGS, he (or she) shall never see death” (v. 51).

John Calvin, the “once in grace, always in grace” man comments on v. 31, which is one of the few times he was right! We now look at Calvin’s entire exposition on Christ’s conditional statement in John 8:31:

“If ye continue in my word.” Here Christ warns them, in the first place, that it is not enough for any one to have begun well, if their progress to the end does not correspond to it; and for this reason he exhorts to perseverance in the faith those who have tasted of his doctrine. When he says that they who are firmly rooted in his word, so as to continue in him, will truly be his disciples, he means that many profess to be his disciples who yet are not so in reality, and have no right to be accounted such. He distinguishes his followers from hypocrites by this mark, that they who falsely boasted of faith give way as soon as they have entered into the course, or at least in the middle of it; but believers persevere constantly to the end. If, therefore, we wish that Christ should reckon us to be his disciples, we must endeavor to persevere.”

“Calvin sounds like an Arminian here, doesn’t he? In checking Calvin’s commentaries on various if-texts, he seemed vague and inconsistent to me, but this was one of the few clear statements I found. But you must be careful reading Calvin because he gives it to you in one place, and takes it away in another. Like Augustine, he is inconsistent and self-contradictory. Notice in the above statement that Calvin used ‘if’ twice” (author unknown).

Jesus applied both the “sin-test” and the “Word-test.” Don’t you think that the Holy Spirit will apply these to us today? It goes without saying that those who “believed on Him” (v. 31) got really irate because Jesus stripped away their religious facade by saying: “Ye are of your father the devil” (v. 44); his discourse ended with: “Then took they up stones to cast at Him…” (v. 59). The same will happen to anyone who EXPOSES those who claim to “believe in Him.”

Prof. A.T. Robertson

ROBERTSON (foremost Greek authority of modern times comments on v. 31:

“Your future loyalty to My teaching will prove the reality of your present profession. So the conclusion of this future condition is put in the present tense. As then, so now…continuance in the Word proves the sincerity of insincerity of the profession. It is the acid test of life” (Word Pictures in the New Testament, v. 5, p. 149, 1932).

Listen up! Jesus made everything CONDITIONAL upon obedient love. Sure, everything comes from His free grace, but obedience/faith make it possible for Him to give this grace to those who ask for it (see also Jn. 14:15, 25).

More Ifs

TAKE JOHN 7:17: “If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of Myself.”

...and: “If a man abide not in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.”

WHAT? Yes, “if a man (or women) ABIDE NOT IN ME (Jesus).” Is this conditional or not (Jn. 15:6)? Now, look at v. 10: “If ye keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love…” Is v. 10 conditional?

Robertson comments on Jn. 7:17: “The conditional is used here with full force of (Greek) thelo: (G2309) ‘to will, to wish.’” So, Jesus’ ‘if-essential’ demands the CONTINUAL wish/will/obedience/love of those who claim to be Christian. Not so today!, one can live like a devil and still expect Heaven.

The “ifs” in Jesus’ teachings are sufficient evidence for our conclusion that redemption/salvation is CONDITIONAL. The New Testament Greek teaches in Jn. 3:15; 5:24; 6:35; 6:54; 11:25: “Whosoever is continually believing has eternal life” etc., etc.

We are continually WARNED AGAINST presumption, which most Churchites pay no attention to. The continue-in-sin (false) doctrine is refuted from Genesis to Revelation.

So, if the Jews are living in unbelief, disobedience, and racial pride, where is their salvation? No Jew can enter the Kingdom unless he or she repents of his/her sins and invites Christ into his/her heart—to be the Savior and Lord.

National Salvation for the Jews?

Gen. James Green

A FTER WE HAVE SEEN that salvation is conditional (getting it and keeping it), we now take a good look at the 1948 thing and who-is-a-Jew thing.

There is no doubt in my mind that all these misapplications of prophecies which speak of the restoration of racial Israel, also apply to spiritual Israel.

To start with, note Genesis 13:14-17—God was going to give Abraham and his descendants the land (in question) FOREVER; yet this promise was conditional.

Please pay close attention to Romans 4:13: “For the promise that he should be heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith” (one needs to study the “if clauses” in Romans). Rom. 4:13 and 14, originally, and always, by faith, was the promise to Abraham and his descendants given. This means that the promises of God were/are not limited to racial Jews only (see v. 11 also). In Romans, Paul shows that faith was (is) the distinctive quality of Abraham’s career; law and faith are not only different, but mutually exclusive. But to be honest, both law and faith are methods of dealing with the sin problem.

Israel Might be Saved

IN ROM. cpt. 10:1-3, Paul prays for Israel’s salvation. What is Hagee going to do with these few verses? We don’t have to be theologians to see that “faith in Christ” (whom the Jews still reject as a nation) is the center of this whole matter. The racial Jew must confess with their mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in their heart that God (the Father) had raised Him from the dead in order to be saved (v. 9)…that they had NOT “obeyed the Gospel” (v. 16). Paul calls these stubborn Jews “disobedient” and “gainsaying” (contradicting) people (v. 21). But Paul also puts forth hope for the Jews (11:1-5): some will eventually be saved, but saved not by “race,” but by “GRACE.”

Israel was not going to receive God’s promises by the law of natural descent, but by the righteousness of faith…this includes the Gentiles.

Holy Race

IT IS THE BORN-AGAIN believers that the promises of God refer: a holy righteous race, and a royal priesthood, as Peter wrote about (see 1 Peter 2:1-10). This is called “replacement theology”—something that the racial Jews HATE and, sadly, so do too many New Testament Christians. Before Christ died, the racial Jews/Israelites were God’s chosen people (Deut. 7:6), but as we’ve seen, even the disobedient and unbelievers were “cut off” (read vv. 9-11).

Going back in time (to Ex. 19:5, 6) we read: “Now therefore, IF ye will OBEY My voice indeed, and KEEP My covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto Me above all people…and ye shall be unto Me a Kingdom of priest, and an holy nation…” The racial Israelites were, back then, God’s people; today, as 1 Peter 2:1-10 tells us, those acceptable to Jesus Christ are God’s people—the racial Jews have been REPLACED by the spiritual Jews. We can’t change this!

Romans 2:28 tells us: “For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh.” Paul continues: “But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter (law), whose praise is not of men, but of God” (v. 29). Paul went on to write that “…for they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, in Isaac shall thy seed be called” (Rom. 9:6, 7). He makes it even plainer when he penned, “For we are the circumcision (as Christians), which worship God in the spirit…” (Phil. 3:3). There is no doubt that this great apostle was setting the new righteousness, open to racial Jews and Greeks, over against the righteousness of the law.

It is foolish to even consider the racial Jew over the spiritual Jew...yet, this is exactly what these people I write about are doing (see Gal. 3:7; 6:15; Phil. 3:3).

The fake Jew (or Israelite) vs. the true Jew (or spirit Jew) is not new to the New Testament. Ever since the Deuteronomic days men had set “heart circumcision” in opposition to fleshly circumcision (see Deut. 10:16; Jer. 4:4; 9:26; Ezek. 44:7 etc.). Paul shows us that the sincere born-again Gentile takes precedence of the unworthy racial Jew.

The following article was written by James Hite:

There are many theories concerning the Jewish people. Some contend that the Israelites of the Old Testament were not Jews. There are those who teach that the true Jews are actually the white race. Those of such a mindset often deny that the Jews were ever the chosen people of God. They also accuse the Jews of being guilty of almost any and all of the world’s problems and moral failures.

On the opposite side of the agenda are those who believe that the modern Jews are still God’s chosen people. These teach that God will bless those who give military and economic aid to modern Israel. They also teach that God has a “special salvation plan” for the Jewish nation left “after the rapture.” Probably a majority of those who share our conservative understanding of the Bible, embrace this type of teaching...But we must ask, “What does the Bible say?”

The Israelite nation, known as Jews, was a result of God’s covenant with Abraham. This is found in Genesis 17:7 & 8: “And I will establish My covenant between Me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant; to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

How did the New Testament writers interpret this covenant? The answer is found in Galatians 3:16 “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He said not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.”

But what about the land promises? Were these fulfilled? In Nehemiah 9:7 & 8 we read, “Thou art the LORD the GOD, who didst choose Abram, and brought him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gave him the name Abraham; and foundeth his heart faithful before Thee, and made a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give it, I say, to his seed, and hast performed Thy Words; for Thou art righteous.” Where in the Old or New Testament does it say God did not give the promised land to Israel and that it is still waiting fulfillment?

In Isaiah 65:15 we find God giving this word of warning to Israel: “And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto My Chosen: for the LORD GOD shall slay thee, and call His servants by another name.” Is it possible this was fulfilled in the last portion of Acts 11:26: “And the disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.”

The teaching of Jesus Christ gives weight to this possibility. In St. Matthew. 21:42- 43 we read: “Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures? The Stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the Head of the Comer: this is the LORD’S doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes, Therefore I say unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken away from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.” Once again we remind you that this was spoken to the earthly Jews. What nation was Christ referring to that the kingdom of God would be given to? In 1 Peter 2:9 we find these words spoken concerning the Church. “But ye are a chosen generation, (note, the Church is chosen) a royal priesthood, (note, Israel was ruled spiritually by a priesthood), an holy nation, a peculiar (specially ordained) people.”

Our desire for modern day Israel should be the same as that of the Apostle Paul, In Romans 10:1 we read, “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved.” In Romans 11:1 the Apostle Paul asks the question the modern day conservatives are asking. “I say then, hast God cast away His people?” His answer, “God forbid.” Therefore modern day Jews remain the chosen people of God, correct? The Apostle Paul continues, “For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin,” To correctly understand the remaining verses of this important chapter on our subject, which we will allow you to read on your own, keep in mind that the Apostle Paul was an Israelite (Jew). Yet he clearly understood that he had the need to accept the Lord Jesus Christ. We will look at two verses in this chapter before moving on. The Apostle Paul has explained that Israel was blinded and cut off so the Gentiles could be grafted in. He gives warning in verses 21 & 22 that apostate Christians should give heed to as well as those who teach unconditional eternal security. Then in verse 23 he states, And they (Israel) also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again. Paul was speaking of the Jews of his day. What makes the modern day Jews any different?

We now come to possibly the most important verse of this discussion. Romans 11:26 “And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, there shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.” We feel a need to add one more verse to the promised two. The next verse reads: “For this is My covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins,” I think we can all agree that the Deliverer to come out of Zion is the Lord Jesus Christ.

The actual location of Zion is uncertain, but it is also used in reference to the city of Jerusalem, as well as reference to the Jewish religious system. In addition, it is used as a reference to Heaven. We cannot be overly dogmatic, but returning to chapter 10 we would be led to believe that Paul is still speaking of the salvation of the Jews of his time. If he is not, we need to ask who he refers to as “all Israel.” All Israel would not be limited to those left after the rapture of the Church. If Israel has a “special salvation,” then every Jew ever born will be saved! It makes much more sense to understand Romans 11:26 to mean that all Israel will be saved the same as all Gentiles will be saved, through accepting the blood of Jesus Christ for their sins.

That Israel is offered the plan of salvation is spelled out in Romans 9:1- 5. In verses 7 & 8 we find that being a Jew does not make one a child of God (Chosen ones). “Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, in Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, they which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.” Remember the largest portion of the New Testament Church was made up of converted Jews. “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29). Hebrews 8:6-13 speaks of the old and new covenant. It clearly teaches the need for a new covenant and the ending of the old one. Modern day Jews can be a part of the Chosen people of God if they accept the new covenant in Christ. Spiritual Israel today, as in the time of the apostles, is the Church. Political Israel might be a part in God’s final countdown, but the New Testament never refers to them as God’s chosen people, except in the context of the past tense.

Jew or Gentile, Jesus Christ wants to be your Lord and Savior. If the Holy Spirit calls, receive His offer today...then you will be one of God’s chosen people.

If Ye Be Christs

GAL. 3:29 clearly shows us that belonging to Christ (as we’re born-again, see John cpt. 3) makes us heirs of God’s promises…all races who accept Christ by faith are entitled to them. Salvation is personal, not national. We’re not saved because we might be a national Jew (Hagee and others now teach this falsehood!).

Gal. 6:15, 16 tells us that being a new creature (creation) is the call of the New Testament, not going back unto/into racial Judaism—as many Messianic Christians are doing.

Compare Jeremiah’s alive tree to Paul’s olive tree (Jer. 11:16; Rom. 11:17, 18). “Israel” is the name of the olive tree. Some of its branches were broken off, and the branches of a wild olive tree have been grafted into the original stock, which stock is “Israel.” Therefore, the branches which are grafted in become “Israel” (read also Rom. 11:19-23).

It was UNBELIEF then, it is UNBELIEF now; the new “Israel” is the true “Israel”—those who put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!

BEFORE I PRESS ON INTO ANOTHER SEGMENT, I WANT TO SAY THAT THESE FUTURISTS ARE DOING THE JEWS A BIG DISFAVOR BY NOT TELLING THEM THE TRUTH. Christian Zionism, as it is called, is a national movement for the return of the Jewish people to their homeland and the resumption of Jewish sovereignty in the land of Israel.

All in all, these Christian Zionists don’t tell the Jews that millions will have to die in the end! This movement is theologically wrong, for, as I have shown thus far, it supports the (false) idea that God’s promises to Abraham and his descendants remain unconditional and eternal. The rebuilding of a third temple is also part of their belief.

Dispensational Christian Zionism, with its teaching on the pre-tribulation rapture of the church (which is totally a fluke), the rebuilding of the temple, and imminent battle of Armageddon etc. is growing…thusly, so does lobbying the U.S. gov. to continue to finance Israel’s expansionist agenda.

Like I’ve already stated before hand, Tim LaHaye, Jerry Jenkins and John Hagee are EXPORTING their (not God’s) apocalyptic dispensational pro-Zionism to all the world. Sadly, they are WRONG!

I, for one, want to see Jews (and Muslims) saved...not fed sweet deceit. There are variant forms of Christian Zionism:

* covenantal premillennialism,

* Messianic dispensationalism,

* apocalyptic dispensationalism,

* political dispensationalism,

* and etc.

I’m not going into all this, but keep in mind that most use prophecies that supposedly support these views. Like I’ve already said, Hagee and others now teach that Jews are saved by race, not grace. This is cheating the Jews out of their true eternal salvation. It is Jesus, not another “Messiah” that saves.

While those Christian Zionists pride themselves on being pro-Jew, they are actually anti-Semite. Biblical Christianity and Christian Zionism are antithesis of each other.

Author Stephen Sizer, in his book “Christian Zionism” (2004), writes :

“A covenantalist recognizes, for example, that the Bible consistently teaches that God has only ever had one people throughout history—those who share the faith of Abraham, whether Jews or Gentiles—and one means of atonement, the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ in our place…the Jewish people are loved by God, have fulfilled a unique role in history leading to the birth of Christianity and I pray that one day all Jews will come to recognize Jesus as their Messiah” (p. 26).

Actually, Orthodox Judaism and political Zionism (the latter rules Israel today) are at odds. Political Zionism is a secular substitute for faith in the Messiah (whom the Orthodox Jews do not believe is Christ, but another is to come. Both need Christ!!)

As for us here, we distance ourselves from Christian Zionism that seeks to impose a predetermined and apocalyptic agenda on these people calling themselves “Jews.” Christian Zionism provides a world-view where the Gospel is identified with the ideology of empire, colonialism, and militarism.

We, like Sizer, reject the contemporary alliance of Christian Zionist leaders, organizations, clubs, and denominations with extremist elements in the governments of Israel/USA that are seeking to impose their unilateral preemptive strategies and militaristic rule over others (it has become a known fact that Israel and the USA are supporting ISIS secretly as they murder Christians and other Muslims in the Middle East).

Hagee and other Zionists, with their heretical teachings support these extreme politics in order to advance a form of racial exclusivity and perpetual war rather than spread the Gospel of Christ.

While we do believe in Aggressive Christianity (we do not advocate physical weapons usage), we abhor Christian Zionism’s form of ideologies of physical militarism—we adhere to non-violent resistance to defeat the lords of darkness.

While we know that most Jews/Muslims oppose Biblical Christianity, we nevertheless pray for their salvation—despite their hatred for our beliefs. Those of you who read our materials know that we do not soft-peddle the truth about these facts.

The apocalyptic burns hotter and hotter as the Middle East war continues...the Christian Zionist selective and dualistic hermeneutics leads them to ignore how the New Testament is spiritually interpreted. They are blinded by the Jewish star of David. All their artificial futurist interpretations lead people AWAY from Biblical Truth. They don’t (or won’t!) see that God’s Word is a two-edged sword: blessings and judgments; they teach unconditional blessings. But the truth is that judgment will come upon the unfaithful and disobedient. These Christian Zionists need to preach/teach repentance and faith towards the Lord Jesus Christ to the people calling themselves “Jews.” But, we must understand that these people have been duped by C.I. Scofield (with his Bible full of notes that are FALSE!). Scofield’s original notes give the reader an explicit dispensational reading of “key” texts. I had to throw mine away back in 1979. But Scofield was duped by Irving and Darby (see my Rapture magazines for more information).

So, be careful when you hear these “misguided ones” hurl Genesis 12:3 at you...which Scofield and others are good at. Seems like America would really be blessed since she has stood for Israel, but she is CURSED!

National Salvation for the Jews?

Gen. James Green

“Never before has fascination with Bible prophecy been more acute then it is today” (“The Popular Encyclopedia of Bible Prophecy,” 2004, p. 1). Well, the truth is that spiritual junk like what he puts out has helped the masses to have a voracious appetite for the End Times. He literally makes millions and millions of dollars. Thanks LaHaye!

And you can count on one thing—the Jewish nation is in the very center of it all.

These guys call themselves “End Times Experts.” Well, they are pretty dumb. Much of what they speculate on has already happened in the past—it is past history. God is finished with the “Jewish nation” as His “chosen people.” Give us a break here—all nations are invited to receive eternal salvation.

Before I get into my last segment here, the following was published by “Yahweh’s Assembly in Yahshua,” 2007:

“The growing worldwide desire afoot to get back to our Hebrew roots brings us to a deeper interest in the Old Testament. As we learn the history of the ancients, such as Abraham and his progeny, we seek a closer association with them and the problems they’ve had. Seeking a deeper understanding of their culture, some have considered taking on a Hebrew or Jewish name. The Bible examples indicate only Yahweh or the parents can change one’s name (Genesis 17:5; 35:18; Num. 13:16, etc.). Our advice to them is to keep the name they were given; determine to maintain honesty and integrity; treasure the name their mother gave them, making it a name of honor and respect by the life they live.

Still others want to be Jews. In getting absorbed in their search, they soon turn their attention to peripheral things of every day life that prove absorbing to them such as the writings, language, customs and appearance of the orthodox Jews. Those seeking their roots become interested in Jewish customs including their dress and apparently want to identify with them. The following verse in Numbers is often seized as their reason to imitate Jewish dress:

“Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue: And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of Yahweh, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring” (Numbers 15:38-39 KJV).

ORTHODOX JEWS have rejected the Savior and still do not understand the spiritual level of Yahshua’s teaching. For example, they wear special Bible verses (in little boxes known as phylacteries) on their forehead, binding them on their hand as a literal fulfillment of Scripture, such as Deut. 6:8. However, Scripture says first the laws should be in their heart (verse 6) within, not hanging on the outside. They do not understand that what is needed is a soft heart and greater spiritual understanding.

Wearing the tassels, having on the yarmulke, the tallith or prayer shawl did not change the hearts of the Pharisees. They still were determined to kill the Savior. When Peter pointed out they were indeed responsible (as are we, for all have sinned) for putting the Savior to death, the question was, what can we do after all this? What can we do about it? The answer from Peter was clear:

“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Yahshua Messiah for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all those afar off, as many as Yahweh our Elohim shall call” (Acts 2:38-39 KJV). Nothing is said here about wearing the prayer shawl, the tallith, the phylacteries, the yarmulke, zit-zits, or kipa. The action the Jews were to take was to repent of their past, change their ways and be immersed into the name of Yahshua Messiah and have their sins washed away so they may walk in newness of life.

It is a disappointment that a great majority of the Messianic Jews who have accepted Yahshua in general do not teach baptism into Yahshua’s saving name...Hardly ever do they encourage one to get baptized into the name of Yahshua. Instead of urging converts to do as Peter said—“Repent and be baptized in Yahshua’s Name...” we hear: “keep the Sabbath, study the Torah and be circumcised in the flesh.”

(End of Article)

...Those coming from Judaism seemingly find it difficult to put their faith in the man, Yahshua. Many Messianic Jews insist one be circumcised and will at the same time contend it is not for salvation, but yet it is required for acceptance into their fellowship.”

All Israel Shall Be Saved?

SINCE I’VE WRITTEN on this before, I’ll cut it short here:

“For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob” (Rom. 11:25, 26).

First, what is strongly suggested is now being explicitly asserted: “all Israel will be saved.” But as we’ve seen in other studies, “this mystery” (v. 25) was used by Paul in other places (1 Cor. 2:7; 4:1; 13:2; 15:51; Col. 1:26 etc.), and always to designate the secret knowledge of some decree of God hidden from men generally.

In this passage (v. 25), the decree was that a “hardening” should come upon part of Israel (or perhaps “a partial hardening should come upon Israel”) until the full number of the Gentiles come in. I ask, does the “full number” (RSV, Greek=πλήρωμα) mean ALL the Gentiles? If Paul means, strictly and fully, “ALL Israel will be saved”—i.e., EVERY ONE PRESUMABLY, Paul is thinking of the Gentiles in the same inclusive terms.

One thing we can count on, is that Paul did not mean EVERY Jew will be saved, but EVERY JEW MUST BE SAVED BY GOING THROUGH JESUS CHRIST THE LORD...not by waiting for some “unknown Messiah”—as Hagee teaches. They either go through Jesus’ blood atonement or perish eternally!

There is NO time in which to expect ALL Israel to be saved. The time for their eternal salvation started with the death, resurrection, and glorification of Christ Jesus (some were saved during Jesus’ physical time with them).

The term “saved” (Rom. 11:26), as applied to the Israelites in different parts of Scripture, signifies no more than their being gathered out of the (pagan) nations and separated to God, possessing the high privilege of being His peculiar people.

Carefully note v. 26: “And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, there shall come out of Sion (Zion) the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob (Israel)”; “And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD” (Isa. 59:20). Paul then quotes v. 27: “For this is My covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins,” in which Isaiah 59:21 quotes the first part: “As for Me, this is My covenant with them, saith the Lord…”

We know that when Paul penned these verses, Jesus, the Deliverer, had already came. Many Jews had already been converted before, at, or after Pentecost...these events were PAST already. So, when will this all happen? We can only surmise, but the dispensationalists pin-point this event in their writings.

One thing we can be sure of is that “all Israel shall be saved” DOES NOT DEPEND UPON THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH, for this teaching is UNSCRIPTURAL!

Lets Recap

“THE GREATER PART of dispensational premillennial theology centers on the blindness of Israel and the fullness of the Gentiles found in Romans 11:25 and the verse following it. It is our contention that much false teaching has been the final result.

First of all, it is blindness in part that is happened to Israel. Who were those who were not blinded? To answer this we have to see, according to the Scripture, why Israel was blinded in part. To quote every Scripture pertaining to this subject would take much time and space. So we will mainly look at the Scriptures surrounding this truth. It is important to keep is mind that chapter division is not inspired.

In Romans 10:21 we find, “But to Israel He saith, all day long I have stretched forth My hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying (contradicting, opposing) people.” Then in Romans 11:22 we read, “Behold the goodness and severity of God, on them which fell severity.” Therefore the obvious conclusion is that those that were not blinded were those who were not disobedient and did not fall from the faith. Another obvious conclusion is that these were those Jews who made up the first New Testament Church!

When speaking of the fulness of the Gentiles, modern day prophets correctly speak of a completion. But a completion of what? In Romans 10:19 & 20 we read, “But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people (The Gentiles), and by a foolish nation I will anger you. But Isaiah is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.” The entire eleventh chapter of Romans centers around the (unbelieving) Jews being won to the true Gospel by the bringing in of the Gentiles.

Therefore, the completion is not a set number, as modern day prophets maintain, but an event. Verse 20 of Romans 11 is usually “read” and then (the time of the blinding of the Gentiles) all Israel shall be saved. In fact the verse reads, “And so” (with the exception of perhaps a few distorted “versions” such as The Living Bible Paraphrased). We did find a few who use “and thus” which can have the same meaning as “And so.” In other words “in like manner” as at least one translation reads. In plain words, the Jews will be saved, just like the Gentiles, by the shed blood of Christ

The Book of Acts records the how and when that the Gentiles were grafted in. During the time that Christ walked the Earth, some Gentiles were included in His healing ministry, and most believe were thus brought to the knowledge of salvation. The first Jewish converts who made up the New Testament Church were willing to accept Gentiles on the same basis as they were included into the nation of Israel. In other words, you had to become a Jew before being received into the family of God. God gave further light on this first to Peter and then to Paul. Paul, in his writings declares that there is “neither Jew nor Gentile in Christ.” But the Judaizers in the Church refused to accept this revelation. Like the modern day prophets, who make this a future event, they refuse to believe that the fullness of the Gentiles had come in. In capsule form, this is found in The Acts 15:14-17, “Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for His name. And to this agree the words of the prophet; as it is written, After this I will return, and will build the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: That the residue of men might seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom My name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.”

There are many strange teachings that have come out of this mistaken interpretation. One of them is the application given to the second chapter of II Thessalonians where it is dogmatically taught that the “man of sin,” who most agree is the Anti-Christ, makes a covenant with the Jews after the rapture of the Church and then breaks it. First of all, Paul is warning the Church at Thessalonica to beware of apostasy. They are the ones that are in danger of being deceived. Secondly, no mention is made of the nation of Israel in this portion of Scripture, or even the Jews of that day. Since this is not the subject of this article we will refrain from stating who we believe “the man of sin” represents. But we will give you a strong hint. Paul clearly states in verse 5, “Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things.” Paul warned that deceivers would come and some would even be found among them. We believe a bad seed was sown that came to maturity that brought a system of religion into being that exists today.”

Mystery and Fullness

I THINK from the advent of the Parsian through all the centuries, up until the final consummation of the church (Ekklesia) age, Paul was referring to “all Israel” being saved. Not all in the strict sense (see Acts 3:21: “…restitution of all things;” Rom. 5:18= “…the free gift come upon all men unto justification;” Col. 1:20= “…by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself…”

THE “ALL THINGS” DOES NOT INCLUDE SATAN, DEMONS OR WICKED UNREDEEMED AND DAMNED MEN AND WOMEN. The word “all” can be understood in a limited sense. The context shows us to what extent “all” is limited to a part. Therefore, we must discern how this word is used: limited or absolute.

Greek scholar Leenhardt says that the Greek means “and so” and not “and then.” Bruce corrects his Greek with the reminder that houtos does at times have a temporal sense. Leenhardt has been used to argue that the fullness of the Gentiles is the same as the fullness of Israel, but the context supports the view that Israel’s fullness follows the fullness of the Gentiles.

Greek scholar Dodd believes that Paul believed that “ALL” or “EVERY” Gentile and Jew would finally be saved, i.e., Universalism. This is the latest demonic doctrine out there today. Don’t believe this! Leenhardt quotes a statement in the Mishnah that says: “the whole of Israel would share in the world to come” (San. 10:1), but the passage goes on to list the categories of sinners that will be EXCLUDED! There is NO such thing as collective conversion.

I think (my thoughts, and I’m not a scholar) that Paul was looking towards the END at Jesus’ return (Parousia).

While it is true that Israel’s rejection of their long awaited Messiah, Jesus, left them under the law that works wrath (Rom. 4:15), yet God still shows love towards them even under His wrath (5:8, 9). In a sense, Israel is the “passive” recipient of His love even when she is the “active” enemy toward God (and Christians). But in order to eternally be redeemed, Israel MUST go through Jesus the risen/glorified Christ.

Actually, the Bible does not say that Israel will inherit the promise because of race, but by grace.

So, with all this said, let’s go on.

Ready to Rebuild

ANOTHER HYPE is the plan to rebuild the third temple in Jerusalem. I could quote pages of books/DVDs/CDs etc. all pertaining to this subject. To start with, here is what the late John F. Walvoord, chancellor of Dallas Theological Seminary, writes in “Ready to Rebuild” (by Prof. Thomas Ice and Prof. Randall Price):

“This book is a mine of information for those concerned about prophecy, and particularly the issue of when and where the Temple will be rebuilt…” (foreword).

To these people, there is no question as to this building—it is God’s will! Really? For what reason? I thought the New Testament Ekklesia WAS and IS God’s Holy Temple!

Well, besides their wishful thinking that it is God’s plan, let me turn you to cpt. 16, p. 209 under the title: “Jewish Predictions for the End-Time Temple.” Following this is a quote by Jew Gershon Salomon (G.S.). I have before me “The Voice of the Temple Mount Faithful” magazine (2002/2003) in which Salomon is publisher (Yochanan Horkanos 4, 91182 Jerusalem Israel). This whole magazine is devoted to this subject of the third Temple…the movement’s end time mission is to establish the kingdom of the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in Israel and all over the world (Gershon Salomon is founder/leader of this movement).

But back to his cpt. 16 statement: “In Israel we have rabbis called Mikubalim [Kabbalists] who have a special way to count the days and years and know EXACTLY (remember this word) when the Messiah will come (meaning the Jews reject Christ!) and when the Temple will be rebuilt (they count on it). According to their count, which they made according to Daniel, Yehezkiel (Ezekiel) and other prophets, this year 1992 (I write this in Oct., 2015—23 years later), will be THE YEAR.” Hey, we’re waiting for your occult counterparts to get it right! He goes on to say: “Other scholars in Israel are saying the same thing. We expect it (interview with Gershon Salomon, Aug. 22, 1991). Mind you that Ice and Price published their book in 1992!

Now Hear This!

FOLLOWING SALOMON’S prediction, our “Jewish-star-in-your-eyes” authors state: “Speculation and prediction about end-times events are usually avoided in Judaism, but many people in Israel today are making very PRECISE predictions about both the coming of the Messiah and the rebuilding of the third Temple.” These two “Jewish-star-in-your-eyes” authors continue:

“What has brought about this startling change in Jewish viewpoint about predictions of prophetic fulfillment?” (as if this took place in 1992!!!).

Jewish G.S. or B.S?

ON P. 215, G.S. states: “We are in the year 1991, tav-shin-hun-aleph, ‘the year in which I will show miracles,’ and so I think the Temple will be built this year…”

Our duped authors—Ice and Price write:

“This specific date can also be derived from a traditional interpretation for the intertestamental period that fixes 1992 as a Jubilee year.” Then these duped authors delve into a lengthy reckoning used to interpret the fulfillment of “their” predictions. Sigh.

At the end of their chapter (p. 221), they write: “Now that we are approaching the END of the generation of those who liberated Jerusalem, we can expect to see increased activity among date-setters…” Well, at least they have that right. At this time, these Christians still held to Jesus as Israel’s Messiah...but all has changed today—Israel’s Messiah, after all, is not Jesus but another (??).

In Closing

HAGEE QUOTES Rom. 11:26 in his “Jerusalem Countdown.” He lets his readers know that it is Jesus the “deliverer out of Zion.” He says (p. 192): “I believe my generation will live to see Him sitting on the throne of king David on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, bringing the Golden Age of Peace to the world.” This was written in 2006. Hagee does not hold to the “Jesus/Messiah” thing today, he now tells the Jews that Jesus was only for us Gentiles, but for the Jews, it will be another.

As for Hagee’s take on Ps. 122:6: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: may they prosper who love you,” he says: “the Scriptural principle of personal prosperity is tied to BLESSING ISRAEL and the city of Jerusalem.” Really? If he’s referring to the US’ policy to “bless Israel with $$,” well, to be honest, it is those Jewish Zionists in power, in America, that benefit by that $$...the general population receives nothing. They extract taxes from us to “bless Israel,” whom are mostly Zionist Jews form Israel. The name of the game is FRAUD!

On May 14, 1948, at 4:32 P.M. in a moving ceremony at the Tel Aviv Museum, David Ben-Gurion (the new prime minister) declared: “We hereby proclaim the establishment of the Jewish State in Palestine, to be called ISRAEL.”

We would like to hear from you!
